Soundblaster 5.1 Platinum

Ok I just bought a Soundblaster 5.1 x-gamer because My soundcard died and I only had around $100 at that time. I could still return the X-gamer and get the Platinum 5.1. But for the extra $100 is it worth it. I like the line drive and everything but spend $200 on a soundcard

If you have really high-end speakers and work with audio (composing, mixing, etc...), then yes. If you have average to good speakers and are primarily into gaming and listening to MP3's, then no.

I got a Platinum, I never got any regrets that I bought the Platinum. I'm just kinda bumbed out that it doesn't work properly in Win2k Advance Server.

why bother with the live platinum? get the hercules game theater xp, more conenctors, more api's supported, you can get 'em for 130-150
