Gta 3 Loading Save Game Problem

Sup...

i just installed gta3...loaded the game...played for a while and saved when i first had the chance...then i quited the game...after an hour or so...came back to load the game...then it loads and the picture of all the gta character comes out and the bar on the bottom goes all the way to the right...then it stops...it just freezes...then i go back out to my desktop and it says "Unhandled exception: c0000005 At Address: (i forgot)"...then GTA3 performs an illegal operation...WHATS WRONG WITH IT!!!!!...how am i going to play this game without being able to load my save games...!!!...does anyone have the same problem!!!...
