Is this guy a retired plumber(not trying to be funny, good pipe work). I was just commenting on the inside of the block, its a series of holes from a drill press, thats all I meant. No doubt this guy is a pro,(went through the site, crap he's good!)

Nice work, I am very impressed. Hopefully, in the next couple of years I will be doing some stuff of that nature. When I can get the right equipement. Thats 90% of anything, having the right tools to work with....

I think if you locked Bladerunner in a Public rest room and gave him a Toothbrush, a spoon and some dental floss he could turn the Rest room into a 5 star Hotel room, with a Jacuzzi better than this one.

The tools you'll need for PC Modding are a drill, hole-saw bits, a Dremel, a Sawzall with carbide blades, maybe a hammer, soldering iron, lots of band-aid's, liquid soap and water bottle(to reduce friction on the blades), pipe bender, maybe a drill press, lots of sandpaper, Roto-Zip with carbide blades, a vise, grinding wheel, and maybe a buffer wheel. I own all of these tools (minus the buffer wheel), and can tell you this is the perfect setup.

I know all of what I need. I just need to finish getting everything. I was a pipefitter, welder, plumber, carpenter, millwright, and electrician before I got into computer work so I have plenty of experience. Just got to get my shop done and my tools accumulated.

Where do you live? You dont have any machine shops close to you? I am in Baton Rouge Louisiana, the refinery capital of the world. Copper and aluminum are really easy to come by here. Some plumbing shops even carry copper blocks. Maybe you can try one of those.

you know, I never thought a plumbing shop would have copper:eek:

I think I have a couple of those in town. I live in bakersfield, CA and we dont produce hardly any metals here, just maybe some coal:(

as for metal shops I havent really looks but they are real small shops all privatly owned and just are realy there to weld things for you.

rlemieux

Yeah most can get it, some even have it in stock. Call around and see if they have it. You might just get lucky.

Most welding shops are able to get metals. But copper is something that is not likely to be kept in stock. For one copper is not welded rather soildered, and for two they really just dont have a whole lot of uses for it in the industrial world. But they may be able to special order it for you. It may be a little less expensive than ordering it online. You may want to try.

You'll be amazed how much extremly ugly modding you can do with just a drill and a screewdriver (reffering to my own ugly case)

lol, I like to think I am a master of all....... I just never found what I really wanted to do, well I knew just was scared to jump into the computer realm. All the rest were just stepping stones and I learned a lot from them. Actually was pretty good at most. Didn’t like being an electrician, just because electricity and I don’t get along..... Actually it’s rather fond of me, but I prefer not to associate with it.
