Some people have reported trouble with the brand new client. Give the old 2.19 on a try...

Give us more detail? Does your PC crash? Freez, Reboot when u try to run the folding program?
if it does any of the above 3, then u may have a heating issue. Make you have Good cooling on your processor, seeing folding uses all your cpu cycles which will make your cpu run a good 10c+ on normal useage. So make sure your heat sink and thermal paste is applyed right, and try again. Firewalls would only block the client from connecting to the internet. So i doubt its the firewall. Altho norton does use alot of Cpu bandwitch to run as well as resouces. So your pc may get slower when you run a norton program ie. firewall or anti virus. So try a Few things, and Post up with what u find out, so we can better help you out.

yes, it does sound heat related. what exactly do you use the computer for? have you played any recent games on it for long periods? how long does it take for the freeze to happen? what kind of hs are you using? thermal paste?

I dont have any temp problems.

What can you tell by the pic below...i dont see any activity after that.

When i run the programm...it writes some stuff very quick...then starts downloading some core_65....and then stops....look at the pic.

That looks just about right. :)
You can download EMIII here - http://www.em-dc.com if you want to be able to put that in your system tray and monitor its progress without having it take up room in the taskbar

LOL, Bro.. You gotta wait.. it takes about 8mins a frame to fold. load folding, and WAIT @ least 10mins. if nothing shows in 10mins let us know. Trust me, u just gotta wait.

after that we'll show you how to setup em3 and stuff to monitor its progress.

With an older system like a p-500 you could have to wait even longer:eek: Some times almost an hour depending on the protein.:D Welcome to the fold!!!:burn:

the different proteins that you fold will get different times per frame. like a proteinA will take a while per frame.
