I'm not sure about this one, but here goes:
I've got some x32 maximum speed CDs, my RW drive is ricoh mp7240a (24x10x40x), and when I put a CD inside the drive NERO only has the option to burn 'em at x12 speed, I thought that the CDs were bad so I went to the store and they told me that its not the CDs but the drive and I need to update the firmware on it, so I went to Ricoh support site, and from all the updated firmwares, my drive had no updates what so ever, I email Ricoh about this, and am waiting for reply, any suggestions of where could I get something that will fix this problem?

Do you have the newest version of Nero?? If so try a complete uninstall of Nero and then reinstall. You can also try and disable smart burn if your burner supports it..

OK, I've got almost the newest version, its the 5.5.8 (5.5.8.2 is the newest, I think)
I have reinstalled Nero a week ago so I do have a new and latest version
I'm not sure what smart burn you are talking, if this is the buffer overrun protection then I don't think its the problem...
Cowboy-X>> Thanks I think there is just no new firmware available yet, oh well. I'll have to burn the CDs at x12 speed and next time will try to get 24x and will be watching for the firmware update.

Did you try a different burning program? Like Clone CD or Easy CD Creator?
