My system specs are below. I am showing right now that 47% memory is being used. I am only running IE and Winamp why so high? My usual memory consumption never used to be over 25-30%

yeah that is enough. Most people only have 256 in there computer.

512 mb is starting to become the standard, I personally have 256 and am perfectly happy. Open up task manager and see if you have any background apps that you were not aware of.

get TWEAK XP and it has a feature that will allow you to free up some ram.
