View Full Version : HP gives me three keyboards - and none of the volume knobs work.

I'll take a pic in a minute.

I have a Hewlett Packard Internet Keyboard, and it refuses to let the volume knob function correctly. None of the drivers on the disc included give it any functionality.

It's ****ing my off. The HP website is of no assistance, and I can't find a fix for it anywhere.

There it is.

Do you have Norton Internet Security or Antivirus installed? If so, that may be the problem. If I remember correctly, the script blocking caused just the problem you describe on my wife's HP.

If that is the case, try disabling (or better yet, temporarily uninstalling) all your antivirus software, and then reinstall the drivers again, and see if that makes a difference. Please let me know! -- Paul

No, this problem has been with this keyboard since I got it almost a year ago. I only recently installed NAV 2k2, though.

Huh, that's odd. Did it ever work, even if only in the original configuration from HP? Problem in both 98Se and 2k?

Strange problem. Hmm. -- Paul

Compaq/HP don't support Win 2K @ all. I have upgraded several machines to 2K Pro, and all the fancy-schmancy keyboard "one-touch" buttons, and volume knobs [HP] stop working.

Had a Compaq keyboard with volume control and it didn't work in 2K either...I would say it's just an OS incompatibility too unless it just doesn't work in any OS.

It doesn't work in 98SE either, and on the under-side of the keyboard is a "designed for Windows 98" sticker.
