DirectX drivers optimization: Detonator3.

if i install one of the detonator3 versions which supports DirectX8 will i get better performance playing a game that demands DirectX7a?
here is my case: i use only to play NFS Porsche Unleashed which uses the DirectX 7a features and i have installed in my machine the DirectX 8 and 6.50 Detonator3 version, will i get a better game performance if i install one of the detonator3 versions that r optimized for DirectX8??

Maybe 1~2 fps. The new det's mainly give you improvement in 3D Mark scores.

I would go back to DirectX 7 if I was you. In most cases, DirectX 7 yelds better performance than DirectX 8. I have used both on my setup and DirectX 7 out performed DirectX 8.
