check out this review I stumbled across http://www.64bits.se/ (http://www.64bits.se/recensioner/socketa_kylningsroundup3/index.php#1) it shows how well the ax-7 compares with different fans. it's the best with a low cfm fan but with the delta 68 cfm fan the new swiftech mcx462-u kicks some serious booty.

mcx462-u is swiftech's newest heatsink. mcw462-u is their water block.

I don't know the difference either. ok I got it basicly the same as the old verison. the only difference I see is the mcx462-u replaces MCX423, MCX462, & MCX478.

Oh, so they just combined them. Ok, I get ya. So the only difference is multiple mounting. In that case I will stay with my AX478 because it dropped my temps 5C over my Swiftech.

how do you have your fan setup blow or suck? I might be get a AX-7 next week and was wondering which way is best. still torn between the AX-7 and mcxc370. One draw back of the pin design is it has too be clean often.

Its blowing I would definitly get the AX7 over the MCX370, it is much better. And the AX7 is only 24bucks.

yea ax-7 is cheaper but the clip suxs and the mcxc370 will cool very well with a delta 68cfm adapted to it. heck I get 35c from a xp1800+@1754 w 2.0 vcore and that is while running folding@home 24/7. I have both swiftech hsfs mcxc370 & mc462 and when both are using deltas they seem to cool about the same.
the price isn't a concern too me I usually spend anywhere from $40 - $125 a week on computer related stuff. I read a post yesterday somewhere here in the forums of someone trying to remove a ax-7 and broke off their tabs. thats what scares me about the ax-7 they are hard enough to install let alone remove.
which ever I choose I plan on using a 92mm H1 panaflo adapted to it since I have it just laying around here. when all is said and done I do think an ax-7 would be a better choice for this fan just don't think I will try removing it or if I do have to be extra careful
