i want to get a RAM upgrade but im not sure which one to get...i see DIMM and SIMM and SDRAM and all these different types..can anyone help me out?

Yes, check your motherboard manual.
For a quick check, pop your case and look at the memory, if you're a P4 system and the mem has heatsinks on it, you're running RDRAM, which you have to buy in identical pairs. Other than that its hard to tell so just look it up, or go to the motherboard manufacturer's site if you dont have the manual, and if you don't know the motherboard, Sandra will tell you
