One of the clips that holds the ram in my machine broke off. Can this be replaced?

Will the slot work w/o the clip?

Thanks

well I have no source for a replacement but as long as the ram stays seated and doesn't work loose then you should be ok...

it's a gamble but then again what isn't?

Why don't you just move the ram to a different slot? It would probably be okay in the slot with the broken clip but to be on the safe side I would move it, on the other hand if it seems like its in securely its probably safe to keep in that slot.

I have all 3 slots filled. Obviously, I could buy a larger stick, but I'm trying to avoid the expense.

If it were me, I wouldn't risk running your machine and having the RAM accidently slip out and short out your motherboard/ram. This seems improbable, though.

Contact who ever made your mobo, they can probably send a replacement clip.
