Hello

Does anybody know if running a DDR333 module at 2.8 volts would damage it? The reason I ask is because I just purchased a 512MB DDR333 (CAS 2.5) Samsung module. If I set all the timings to autodetect (SPD) the ram seems to run fine at whatever voltage the bios sets it to, but if I change the timings to 2.5(cas),2,5,2 then i get all sorts of crashes unless i adjust the voltage to 2.8 volts. Am I burning up my memory by doing this?

thanks.

I asked this question of the technical dept of Crucial and they say that's the upper limit in their opinion before damage could be done.

Agreed. 2.8V should be fine as long as your memory isn't getting hot. Simple airflow over the chips is usually plenty enough to keep memory cool.
