View Full Version : What to do for Chieftec Dragon?

I just bought myself the popular Chieftec Dragon, and I want to give it a cool window(s). But, I am very uncreative and don't want a square window.
So can any1 give me some good ideas for a side window or anything else among the case?
I believe this (http://65.119.30.151/productimage/11-999-286-01.JPG) actually will bolt right on to that case. I'll contact the guy that posted it (elsewhere) and try to get more info.
Here's a quote (I'm still waiting to hear back on the vendor's name):
"Special Price! Chieftec Side panel for case, for all Cheifech DX-01BD cases, Clear Plastic side panel, Model: SPX-02B Black Retail This stylish side panel replaces stock front/left side, into a clear window for viewing inside your PC, you can also convert it back at any time. No modification required. Model#: SPX-02B"
The DX-01 is the Antec SX1040 and Alienware's mid-tower dragon case, BTW...so it should fit.

Alright to be more clear----I know how to use a dremel and other tools pretty well, and have modded many cases, but what I am looking for is a new design/shape that would make my case different from the others!:p

Wasn't trying to offend...certainly don't know your capabilities. Just happened to see that posted "somewhere", and thought you might be interested....
Custom designs cut out look awesome, IMHO. They take a lot more work than a "square window", but the results are far more worth it.
Cheers!

BTW...here's my "custom" design....

No, i wasn't offended, but I decided i should put that in so the board readers would maybe try to find something unique------just like that o/c case. Its pretty sweet to!;)
Yes, i have seen those side panels, they are like $25 at Newegg.
Also, does any1 know if this would be physically possible with power tools:

actually, I made an amd window on my old case that I sold to my friend :).
Anyway, I decided the rainbow sign would be near impossible because 1)i don't have time, 2) nor do I have patience
Maybe the initials of my motherboard? (ECS)

Unless you plan on sticking with that system for a while, I wouldn't do that.

i finally got ambitious today, printed out and traced the design on the inside of the case door, i might start cutting later, under my pops' supervision of course ;)
i'm taking pictures throughout the whole process and i'll post them all in one big thread when i have the case cut out and the cathode in, so basically when the case is finished. it'll be a LOT longer till the whole computer is done thought :p
