View Full Version : Posting Client on another Website...ok to do?

I'm putting a nice page on my site regarding Folding@home later tonight, and I was thinking of putting the standard Windows client on there for people to download. I don't expect humongous traffic, but am using it to recruit people, mainly friends and coworkers and the such.

So anyway, I'm gonna put the client there, and link to Standfords pages with installation instructions and liscense info.

Is that ok (or legal) to do? I didn't see anything on Stanfords site saying not to post the client elsewhere, but I also don't want to do something wrong/stupid. I could just as easily post a link to their download page....

....you know, that sounds like a better idea. But I am still curious...

I would post a link to the website. Putting the actual program up there probably isn't a good idea.

Email them and ask.. that way you will know

Anyway a link to Team32 would be my suggestion

Thats the plan as well. It's just going to be some writing about folding, what it is, and why people should join. Like I said, mianly for people I know to check out. Gonna use it as a springboard to get people to the Team32 site :)

Just put a direct link to the download from your page. this way you can link them all not just the one client:D

Oops, its http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

I prefer the page link as it lets people choose what client they want/need for their machine.
