Hey guys, I was just wondering since I'm running a XP1600 on a kt133a mobo, if getting a Geforce4Ti card would be a complete waste of time (framerate severely hindered by SDRAM?). I´m using a Geforce2 MX200 so I'm afraid it won´t play games that are coming out soon (Unreal Tournament.. etc.).
Any experiences with that?

DDR would be a great improvement over SDRAM, but as long as you don't care if a shadow looks real enough or the card you're looking at has at least 15 frames/second performance,(My onboard video registers 4.5 frames/second with 2x AA and Antistroptic Filtering@1280x1024) any card will suffice.:)

I went from a Geforce 2mx400 to a ti 4600 on a sdram mobo, and practicly doubled my 3Dmark score. So I would say it's well worth it. Got my money for a new board and memory, hopefully that will tack on another 4000 to 5000 points.
i dont think its a complete waste of time. that video card you got is not so good, actually youre gonna get a major improvement from the g4, since your cpu is fast enough, at least. in my opinion you are better getting the video card first than a new platform.
