OK I found a 10" neon at walmart the other day for 10bucks so I bought it. I have yet to put one in my case so I thought this would be perfect.It was cheap. After looking it over I decided that it wouldnt be too hard to rip apart to get the pieces to fit in my case.. I decided that since it had beat detection I wanted to mount the switch and all the electronics behind a 5.25 bay cover....So I desoldered the wires that run to the noen bulb and soldered longer wires to the board and to the bulb. then drilled a hole into the cover that the switch would fit in and mounted the circuit board to the back of the cover using a compound called "E6000". it works well and dries fairly fast. when I got it all done and fired it up the beat detection selection is not very bright anymore. every thing seems right but I cant explain why the one selection is dim and the constant on position is just as bright as it was before I tore it apart.....any thoughts?
