I gonna remove the covers for 3 of my drive bad and pace a 120mm by 120mm fan on it. I will get a sxy laser cut fan grill so that the front of my casing still looks gd with the fan there.
however since it is right at the top, will a lot of air get sucked it by the power supply box. it is placed insuch a way that air flow directly from the top of my front casing (position of drive bay) to my cpu. how is this cooling solution?

If you specifically want it to affect your CPU temp you could try ducting the air (a few peices of PVC pipe maybe? large ones :p )

The best place for a fan would be directly over the CPU, ducted straight on to it.
If I think you're doing what I think you're doing, I did much the same with my case, but with an 80mm fan....
Personally, I found the fan on the front didn't make that much of a difference tp my temps......Was it something like this?

I agree with reddeathdrinker. The side intake should always be your first addition.
RDD, have you tried using the front fan in the bays as an exhuast? That way it would serve as support for the blowhole fan. I would use it with a temp probe, if it got too hot inside, that fan would vacuum out any heat buildup in a jiff. It would take the flow pattern from

yeah thats something what I am going to do
I dun have the equipment to mod the side of my casing so the side fan is out of the question. furthermore i always kepp my case open, so the best place to put the fan is still in front. i think my think should degrease with a 120mm by 120mm. 80mm by 80mm are not really cappable of driving cool air that far in to the computer.

I've been runnin a 120mm fan in my drive bays since it has gotten hot here. I put it 1 bay down, and just set it in the opening. It coled mt temp by about 5 deg. If you can make a sxy grill I say go for it. I, personally hate the looks of a side fan(window much sxyer)
