I just set up a P4 1.6Ghz with a P4S533. I am using a stock HSF and 4 fans in my case. I also slabbed some arctic silver 3. I overclocked it at 2.1Ghz. I updated my Asus Probe and I found that my mobo temp is 34 C, my CPU idol is 38 but my CPU full load is a whooping 54C! That's a 16C jump in temperature. Well, my room temperature right now is around the 27C.

So I have a few questions.

Is this normal to have a CPU full load in the mid 50C?
Is it possible that the Asus Probe is reading it wrong?

Thanx

asus is known to report their temps higher then they actually are. Personally, i wouldn't worry about it too much, just get a alpha 8942 heatsink or a Thermalright AX-478. Those will cool down your cpu very nicely. Make sure you get some good case cooling, don't forget, "heat is the enemy."

don't worry about that tempareture, mine 1.8A running at 2.549GHZ,

when i test it with prime95, the tempareture went to 61*C for CPU, 67*C for mobo before the Prime95 says "error".

My room tempareture is also around 27*C to 28*C.

So yours isn't so bad.
