Alright, I am building a second computer similar to the one in my sig for my best friend. He will be doing some overclocking, and I was wondering if the Swiftech MCX370-0A or the Millenium G-LIte is a better choice for cooling the AMD XP 1600+.
Is their that big of a difference, or is it barely noticeable the difference between the two?
I would go with a nice big swiftech that uses the 4 mount holes.
Or a nice AX-7. ;)

Ok, I just talked to him and now my question is this: I will get him a expensive heatsink, and a quiet fan cuz he doesn't want to do any "extreme" overclocking :( .
So, what is the favorite quiet fan around this forum? P.S.- He will put this comp right next to his bed.
HAHA! Mine is in my basement with a couple deltas
i was also thinking about putting an 80mm fan onto the heatsink instead......

Sidewinder makes an adapter to go from 60-70-80 and 92mm, but they are pretty simple to make, just follow what they got there http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/amunfanad.html
That way you can get more CFM's at the same or less dbs.

i would NEVER stick one of them glaciators on my cpu, they weigh a million pounds! and the clip is woosie! id be afraid of it falling off,
the swifty is gonna be loud for performance and costs a whole buttload.... while the alpha is what 30 bucks? quiet.... light, it has a copper inlay, and did ya know that copper spreads heat best, and aluminum dissipates heat best??? and if you really want something like the glaciator, but better and cheaper, go for a svc golden gate, they are NICE! light great clip, will perform with a decently quiet fan....

my glaciator was awesome!! i never worried about the clip
as it never came off. if you aint moving your computer every
day then you wont have to worry about the clip.
and if you are really paranoid about it falling off, then killing
your beautiful cid card, just tue a string from the glaciator
to the Case or PSU vents.
