Ahhh! Just noticed that my move into the TOP 100 has BUMPED Jeniva and Yodums back down to 101 :p . Jeniva, please ensure that you have reverted back to your old Top 200 avatar... :D

Some bad news folks: I do believe I just let the magic smoke out of my first XP chip:(

Pulled the hsf off to toss on one of the new fans, nice fresh coat of AS3, put everything back together and fired it up.

4 seconds later I yanked the plug (plenty of time for the boot screen to start).

Slight discoloration around the core, and there was no attempt at post. Sucks.

No time to mess with it tonight, so I'm going to cross my fingers and try again tomorrow, but...........I may have added a Mobile Cruncher to the list.

That totally sucks. Sometimes AMD are nice and take RMA's for OEM chips so you may want to give that a try. Right now you can replace it for a 30ish - 40ish dollar 1gig Morgan and unlock the sucker and it will crunch within high 3 hours which will not exactly compare with the XP but hey good enough.
