View Full Version : temps?
How can i get the temps for the cpu, mobo, and case?
I have asus p4t-e with 2.2a northy. I also heard that asus reports their temps a lil bit higher. My hsf uses panaflo h1a fan and i'll be using a 4pin to connect it to a molex, will this be a problem then to monitor its' heat?
Use a program called MotherBoard Monitor. You can get it by going to Google.com and typing in "Download MotherBoard Monitor," and go directly to the downloads.
You then go into settings, config it with the right diodes. The higher one is your CPU temp, the lower one (20-30) is your case temp. You should download Prime95 and run the Torture Test, then monitor the temps to get the full load temps.

there are many programs which monitor temps, Voltages, Fan Speed. Motherboard Monitor, Speedfan etc. i use intel active monitor coz i have a intel mobo. temps, speeds are also reported in your bios. umm there is nothing wrong with plugging your hsf into a 4pin molex connecter from the PSU. the only disadvantage is that the fan speed wont be monitored. it will only be monitored when it is plugged into a 3 pin motherboard header. u may want an adapter thingo

But keep in mind that MBM isn't that accurate. Don't rely on it too much. Here's a little bit from the e-mail I got from AMD:
"Also, please note, the max-operating temp is based on measuring the temperature Top Dead Center of the processor die. Since very few systems measure the temp at this location it is a good idea to allow for some variance when comparing this number to the values reported in the BIOS. The accuracy of the thermal probe, hardware monitor and conversion from an analog signal to digital also impact the actual temperature that is being reported in the BIOS or software."
