i have two hard drives, a maxtor 5.18 gig that house all my Windows and Xp stuff, and a brand spanking new 10 gig hard drive with nothing on it, now i just dont know how to connect them together and fruther to ther mobo!How do i do it
(SOme Pictures Would BE HELPFUL!)
Open your computer & tell us what the cable from the motherboard to the HDD looks like.

its two ide hard drives and i belive that i have the cable to do this
its an IDE cable with 3 connections
Well, set the drive with Windows as Master. You can do this with the jumpers on it. The jumper designations may be printed on the label, or on the PCB. If not, refer to the manufacturers web site. Set the new blank hard drive as slave. Put the IDE plug that's furthest from the other two into the mobo. Plug the exact opposite end into the master, and the middle into the slave. Add a dash of power, and a hint of bootup. Check your BIOS to make sure it detects. Boot into Windows, format the new drive. You should be good to go at that point.
