I am think about doing something to keep my temps in line in one of my workhorse comps, it is a 700 Duron @900, 32MB GF2, 512SDRAM and it had Dual 18GB 7200RPM Samsung HDD's
one is mounted normally, the other is mounted upsidedown, there is a 1 bay gap between them
Anyone have any ideas on what kind of a setup would work the best for this situation??
i really don't feel like buying 2 HDD coolers because they are like $25 each

You could drill holes/cut out the from of your case and slap a 50 or 60mm fan in between the two hd's.
The fan would be set to suck air in to the case from the outside that is...

i was thinking about that, but all of the hard drive led's and power switches are located right in front of where the hard drive rack is in my case, i could move them, but i bought the case because it had cool sunken in buttons
any other suggestions????

If you can put both drives next to each other, try one of these;

I have mine in the upper bay so it blows the hot air toward the back of the case and out the blowhole. Works great.

This is the best hdd cooler ive found, its 45bucks tho. very costly, but it has an 80mm fan (you could use a better one) and holds 3 hdd's useing 2 5.25" bays. Its called The Bay cooler 3. i cant find my link for it. but ill keep looking

I have decided to make my own hdd coolers, changing the mounting posoitions so they are both mounted normally
i am going to try cutting a piece of plexi the same size as my hdd, then drill holes in the plexi so they match up to the existing screw holes in the hdd and use some 60mm fans i have lying around
i will post some pics when i get my digi cam tommorow
