no bigger than mine but looks nicer. mines a chepo 4Q
O ****!!!
I think im going deaf!! DArnnit , forgot how loud the sound of cutting metal with a dremel is......:D
JUst cut out most of the front of the case for my heater core.
Cut the piece of metal on the mobo tray thats right under the cpu socket.....so I dont have to unscrew the whole board to intalll/uninstall waterblocks :)
And of course I cut all the built in fan grills for obtimum air flow...
Next IM going to attact the side pannels to make some windows......Haven't decided on design yett.....As of now its a plain rectangle until I find something better to do.:burn:

wow very nice!!! i just bought me a new case too! im waiting to make me a new rad shroud before i start cutting that hole, mine is gonna be stealth watercooling! i got me a dremel(black and decker rtx) and im now HAPPY! hehe, i cut one hole with it, and i didnt notice how it was loud and noizy....
I got a new drill (6amp masonary drill) to use with my 127mm hole saw.
Aslo picked up a jigsaw at homedepot. The dremel keeps overheating and the speed settings then get messed up... (90 F ) so i decided to cut the larger areas with the jigsaw.
But the front pannel is made out of like solid Aluminum..the thickness is like its cast iron....
So in like 3-4 hrs we should have a pic of the shroud for the rad and a completed cut up case.
Tommorrow we start the quest for a perfectly finished mirror effect on the paint job.

What kind of case is that?
Its an old enermax SErver case.
I think you can still find them at newegg for around $140.:)

It probably has pop rivets holding it down. Drill them out to remove the top. When you want to fasten it again, tap the holes to take some sort of machine screw and use those to hold it down.
Then you'll be able to remove it later on as well. :)
Actually the top of the case is a b!tch to take off.
I figure I'll try to paint it w/o drilling through all 25 rivets :D
Some more pics coming up!!
Some more pics....
The hole for the rad intake is a 127mm hole cut by a hole saw, attached to a 6.0Amp masonary drill. Took less than a min. to cut it. The holes above the 127mm hole are holes for my reobus.
ENjoy.

I'd like to get a full tower, but it'd be 6 inches taller than my desk! You want to pop of rivets with just a drill? get a hand grinder on that thing! Pop riveters aren't that expensive..

A Dremel tool might work too. This would be my plan.
Cut and/or drill away all the rivets. Yeah, it'd be a pain but I'd only have to do it once.
Once that was done I'd tap holes for only four screws - one at each corner of the top panel. That's really all you'd need. Then taking the top off again wouldn't be a big deal.
If I can find one of those cases I'm going to buy it. :p It makes Megalith look short.
Now its time for leak testing!
The setup includes:
TC-4 rev.2 waterblock
Camaro '89 Heatercore w/shrouds (shroud on backside is still in the making)
Danner 500 Gph mag pump (also have two via aqua 1300's)
Prototype Air trap (made out of pvc and JB welded barbs) - Clear air trap in the making

nice case, keep up the good work. Can't wait to see the finished product.
I've just finished the other shroud for the radd today.
Looks much better than the first one i made. Got better aquanted with braking sheet metal..
And yes I do plan on making the fans work in a push/pull config.
And the heatercore is a '89 camaro core : 7" x 7" x 2" I think those are the right dimensions....might be wrong?

b8ng8 Dude!
Danger Danger!
I noticed you have the same pump brand as I do.
Be warned that your pump intake will likely split and leak with that brass hose barb in it.
The solution, if its not too late, is to put a ring clamp around plastic of the female intake. I would unscrew the brass hose barb first.
I blew out my first pump with brass in plastic and no clamp.
The second pump I used a ring clamp and a nylon hose barb to be on the safe side.
Oh yeah, My pump worked a week or more before it split and leaked.
Fess_ter
YOOOOOOOO DUDE!!!
:D
I've been around and am fully aware of the problems with the danner pumps! If you noticed I screwed the brass fitting lightly enough not to leak nor crack.. (found an equalibrium point!)
And I jbwelded the pump cover onto the pump:rolleyes: kinda broke off one of the screw wels and had to just jbweld it all togheter.. The pump has been runnning for like 2 weeks straight with just the rad hooked up to it.. Leak free and stronger than ever.
Well,
Its been like a couple weeks and Im finally getting near compoetion with my case.
I decided to paint the case a mirorred finished "True Blue" color.
Theres gonna be another neon added thats blacklight, to highlight the die im gonna put into the water :D
The pics are pretty bad... (sucky Kodak digicam), they don't do the apints finish anu justice.
