Well, I bought this:
Asus P4S533
Intel P4 2.0A processor
512 of Corsair pc2700 RAM (2-2-2-5 2T)
Chaintech ti4200 (300 core, 500 memory)
plus standard components to finish it out

There are SO MANY settings on this motherboard that my head is still spinning!

I'm looking for advice from folks who are familiar with overclocking and hopefully, personal experience with this gear. I'm a bit leary of pushing the FSB too hard and burning out components on the motherboard like the LAN adapter or sound card.

I'd like to get the system to 2.4 Gig if possible (yeah, I know I should have settled on the 1.6a). I've set the FSB to 120 to achieve the goal, but it seems that the system isn't too happy at this bus rate. I tried the default setting of 2.66, but the machine won't post at all at 133 fsb. I'm running it now at 2.2 with no problems.

I'm looking for some advice on areas to watch. What should I be looking for on the PCI bus? How hard can I push the video card? Should I be stepping up CPU voltage? Should I be adjusting the memory timings?

Your input is appreciated!

it should be possible to get to 2.4 with your setup. unfortunately, those chips are not very good overclockers, on average of about 2500. mine will go higher, but where im at right now, i can do everything i want to do and the sys is totally stable. you might need to use more v core. heres what mine is at, and this is at a full load.:D
