BinarySuperman

I think he should charge 18 bucks + shipping, guys he's making no profit off of this, and he's putting alot of work into this, i think he should get something out of it, 20 bucks shipped is an excellent price for CUSTOM made grills. oh yeah plus he has to package and ship the stuff, this takes time, even though he may not wanna charge 20 shipped, i think you guys should still pay 20 shipped for all his work.

After you figure out what you want to charge and how you'll accept payment, if you want (and if you don't or not right away, that's fine, if you couldn't handle a hundred orders right now, we probably should wait until you could); email me with them and I'll put up the picture on the front page along with the procurement details.

Computer Aided Drafting, used for CNC machining, it's like a high tech assembly line. They run off of a CAD program. Program water jets, robotic arms, stuff like that

Can a plasma cutter cut that fine?
My bro has one he can get his hands on from work, and I have been scared to mod holes in my case for fans, Does this mean I would be able to cut them easy and smooth with oen of those?

And nice grille, Maybe ill get one when I cut the holes :)

Penguin4x4
06-29-02, 11:12 PM
No, plasma cutter can't get that level of detail. Water jet or dremel.:( I WANNA WATER JET!

subconcept
06-29-02, 11:29 PM
Not even the level of detail to make an 80 mm hole?

Penguin4x4
06-29-02, 11:31 PM
Ohhhhh, the hole, gotcha:o . Plasma cutter is a little overkill. A hole saw, jigsaw, or Dremel should work, though/

Ge|atinousFury
06-29-02, 11:38 PM
What exactly is a waterjet?

Penguin4x4
06-29-02, 11:44 PM
A fine jet of water powerful enough to break bone,:D And stainless steel,(get a hacksaw or jigsaw on a piece of stainless, you'll get my point)

64Thunderbolt
06-30-02, 12:15 AM
An abrasive waterjet is a computer controlled machine that uses a water stream and garnet sand to cut material.. The water is compressed to 60,000psi and forced threw a .012 orface disc and into a .040 mixing tube. thats one strong water stream(in other words the garnet covers 3 football fields in less then a second)!!!! we can cut anything from sponge (water stream only) to alumium oxide (not aluminum)(im not sure on that spelling) , from paper thin to 9" thick ...

Man that's pretty hardcore......is this monster yours (like a personal machine) or is it a huge behemoth at your workplace??

Penguin4x4
06-30-02, 12:22 AM
Its a huge $100,000+ machine in his garage,:D

64Thunderbolt
06-30-02, 12:24 AM
This one has a 8' x 20' cutting surface... and it is at my work place.. At one point I will be getting a smaller unit ( for even more detail) for other projects I have in mind...

Wow! That’s one of the coolest fan grills I’ve seen. Do you have any plans on making some 92mm ones?

wh469
06-30-02, 02:10 PM
I think that the grill is awesome and I'll have to get myself some when I build my comp. I have a question or two.

1) Are you going to post final price and payment methods in this thread or do I have to check the overclockers main site? And if I can't get them through either of those ways can you tell me how I can find out?

2) Are you going to do custom orders? I just curious so I sorry if it sound like I'm asking for something. (I hope I'm not)

well thats it for the questions. Great Grills!

Not a problem... I have posted that the cost of the O/C logo grills are $15 US plus shipping... ( my cost ) ( the larger ones cost a little more, Ill post those prices soon!!)
Yes, Id rather do mostly custom.. I will do company logo's for sites, but would like to offer "custom" as my base.. I like alot of what Iv seen here on the forum, all of you have been very inspiring..
If you have any idea's about some custom work and would like a quote please email me... s4thunderbolt@aol.com

So you make them, right?

I don't know that I'd need one now... I'll have to think about it. :)

If I can think of what I'd need one for, I'll get back to you.
IMO, I've done all the tasteful mods I can do to my case, if I did anymore it'd be fubar'd. I'm sure you understand. :)

64Thunderbolt
07-01-02, 12:13 AM
OK.. well, let me know when you want one... Im working on a web site and I'll post it if I can... Im also doing "custom" grill designs if your interested in do one

Looking good!
If you buy one, here's a very tiny idea. Paint the O and the C blue, the lightning yellow and the supports black... like in the pic. Could be nice, could be crap. ;)
If anyone tries it, perhaps you could share the results with us? :)

09-21-02, 11:19 AM
oooooooo those r just shweet, wen i get meh put done, ill have to buy one from yeh, and yes ill pay the $20, those thing pwn

@dpanter good idea, id think it wood be shweeter if the black was like, just a open space, to let the air flow through :D

dpanter
09-21-02, 11:35 AM
Yeah Bubba, that would be even cooler. :)
The fingerguard-function would be reduced of course, but the looks would improve.
