Thoght I'd introduce myself, I became a member a few months ago but have not had the time to introduce myself or explore the site much. What I have seen so far has been very informative, I have read the newcomers/beginners guides and have learned much from them. I have not yet overclocked my system yet, but feel very confident in doing so and knowing that I have a good system with quality parts. My system in it's current status is as follows: AMD ATHLON 1333, I WILL KD 266 MOBO, 60gig MAXTOR HDD, NVIDIA G FORCE 3, SOND BLASTER AUDIGY PLATNIUM EX, ENERMAX 300w PSU, 3 INTAKE FANS, 3 EXHAUST FANS, ZALMAN CNPS3100-GP CPU HEAT SINK W/90mm FAN. I recently ran 3D Mark 2001 SE, my system received a score of 5542, and my cpu temp. never went above 47*C (room temp was around 80-85*F). Well that's it fro now, I look foward to gathering the most from everyone here at overclockers...

Let me be the first to say elcome and nice topic name! It was very original.
Well you have great system specs but do you fold? You NEED to fold. Folding is special. I willnot tell you what folding is other than you NEED to do it.
Ok, enough of that. What version of the GF3 do you have?
Read my FAQ linked below and if you intend to overclok you will need to lower you CPU temps. 47c using 3dmaerk to me is a bit high on an unoverclocked system. What are you using for thermal paste?
Well gotta split.
Peace

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!!!
now on to the list. if u want a good o/c u need to:
1) lower temps, considerably. get a thermostat like compunurse to accurately monitor temps. anything over 50c is too hot oeriod. keep it below 45c whenever possible.
2) that 300w Enermax may give u problems, keep an eye on the +5v rail. get mbm5 (google is your friend) to keep an eye on things if u havent done so already.
if u want some good performance outta that system, upgrade to a DDR mobo and some good crucial PC2100 for beginner o/c'ing, or some samsung PC2700 CTL-chips fpr insane FSB o/c'ing. the crucial does fine in a pinch though (check siggy)
good hsf=Thermalright AX-7. if u dont mind noise get a delta 80mm 80cfm blower, that combo w/ some arctic silver 3 (svcompucycle has it for 6-7# and free shipping)
oterwise the mechatronics 50cfm fan is excellent and quiet for its cfm.
follow the instructions exactly at www.arcticsilver.com for max perofrmance from the AS3.
if u want to test out well u need some DDR lovin'. SDR just doesnt cut it anymore with these bandwidth hungry CPU's. and dont expect too great of an o/c from that Tbird. for the life of me i couldnt get my 1.33tbird to 1.4 stable:) no matter what i did
and let us in on some info like
what is the stepping of the CPU?
what kind of geforce3?
what other components will u be running in the box?
hope this helps get back to me:)
