Completely different board designs and has very little, if nothing to do, with the memory involved. The 8KHA+, as well as many others, are now using 3-phase power designs which requires alot more amperage than the previous 2-phase designs.

so is does this mean the new board arestarting to rely on very good psus?? dam i should have saved up and got a good one.

a good psu will last you years.. that like monitors (i think) well. and some scsi stuff are good "investments" in a computer

yah when u got 4 folding rigs and want more u tend to spend the extra hundred on another rig well i guess i should get one for my xp1800@1867 vcore 2.05. the 5 volt line has dropped to a low 4.7

3-phase power requirements are a bit higher than 2-phase and need better power supplies to make up for it. The 5V line amperage is taxed quite a bit more and that's why the low 5V rail plagued most people (and still does) when these boards came out.

i was looking at antec true power specs and they say +/- 5% that a whole 0.25 volts on the 5 volt rail. so is my psu if its with in 4.75 and 5.25 volts?? cos its currently at 4.76 is this bad?? i had a crappier psu and i had lock ups at 4.67 volts.
