xg vigor 450 for my system?

IIRC, MGE's are made by Youngyear. Not a very good PSU maker.

Look at the amperage ratings. 15A for 3.3v, and 17A for +12v. Only the 5v is decent at 35A. Even assuming that they are all independent of each other, they still don't add up to 450w, even with the 5v/2A standby.
 
yes, that did look low. i compared with my seasonic 300w and the seasonic seemed to have similar ratings. ok, i'll pass. what sort of ratings would be good to look for?
 
budget is as little as i can spend. and i intend to oc some, but not to extremes
 
I have the 500w version of that PSU and never had a problem.
Its stable and quiet.

You are correct. The AX400 and AX450 both have dual SATA power connections.
