I’m still a little confused. I have the Asus P4PE. I have one stick of Corsair memory 256MB 32MX64 PC-3200LL. I have limited resources but want to access all the power I can with my Antec 480 PS. I am stuck between three chips-

2.40B -C1 STEPPING 533 FSB
2.4C 800 FSB
2.53 GHZ 533 FSB

What is it that makes a chip have Hyper Threading, the “c”?
Should I be able to run the first chip and get results better than the second?
If I can afford it should I just get the third?
What would you put in it???
Thanks everybody.

its the best chip out of those three btw. If u have the money get the 2.6c, as its an all around better chip

Actually, the 3.06 also had HT as well as all the 800 bus "C" CPUs. But, I'm not sure the 2.4C is the best deal if you're planning on keeping your mobo and RAM. If that's the case, then maybe get the 2.4B.

Am keeping it.

I do intend on keeping the rig and expanding on it, why do you suggest the 2.53b in that case?

So it wouls be overkill and I may get a better OC out of a 2.4B 533FSB, right?

Would I run the risk of burning out my mobo or ram with one of the 800 Mhz FSBs?

You might not even make it to 200FSB. It truely depends on
your boards stability and the quality of the BIOS
