Here's the power supply I'm looking at for a possible future hd4870x2 with oc'd nehalim quad build. The Seasonic M12 600w

The hd4870 needs an 8 pin but the m12 ps has a 6+2 pin that they started shipping later on. So the question is, is this the same as a real 8 pin pcie? It's not an adapter, it goes all the way to the modular plugin on the power supply. BUT it was originally made for a normal 6 pin pcie wire as far as I know. What say ye?
