What are you doing for HDDs? I built a few CAD boxes for this guy, and he always wanted a SAS controller with either one 15k Cheetah SAS, or two on RAID 1. I'd just go with RAIDed Raptors.

As far as I know, there is no way to "dismantle" your current RAID-0. I'd say you'll need to go with your plan B on this one.
