I would have thought that the intel 815 (st6) would outperform the via 694 (vh6t) also but my testing did not support that. I have both motherboards currently and have swapped memory and cpu,s...

Take a good look at your bios settings for memory and make sure that it is running @ 4:4:1 above 124mhz otherwise your pci bus will be way out of spec. Some of the recent posts on users of newer st6...

In may case I found that the VH6t will give better memory scores in SisoftSandra anyway. @ 133fsb I get about 1020 on the vh6t and the st6 scores about 960 so from my testing the vh6t is slightly...

Re: hmmm

Your temps of 49-50c load are probably correct for the st6 using the on die temp probe . Go to the link at www.articsilver.com that discusses how to calibrate your temps to match other non on die...

Re: ???'s on ABIT ST6 with Celery 1.2

Seems odd that you can run at 3:3:1. and not @ 4:4:1. I have the same combo and have had no problems with the 4:4:1 settings below or above 133fsb. I can get to 133fsb but it actualy is 132 when set...

Yes it does use a 60mm fan but it is not as loud as a delta 38. THe 80mm fan would likely be quieter though. I may mod my switech to an 80mm in the future. the problem with modding them to an 80mm is...

The VH6t has a theristor (heat sensor) under the flip chip that measures the cpu temps. Did you by chance bend that up and it is now actualy touching the underside of the cpu. This could cause that...

Your temps are high, but not as bad as you might think. The ST6 mobo reads the on die thermal diode temps. These are the cpu internal temps and not the on board theristor or diode temps. I went...

I believe that the 1.1a chip is 99% to reach 133fsb but you will most likely need to do the vid pin trick to set vcore volts up to 1.75v or more. The 1.2 chip will be 50/50% to hit 133 @ 1.8v most...
