Great builds!! But... First rule listed in the first post... No atx cases. Whilst your board/s are Matx, your case is not :(. Time to drop that case size man!!! :).

damnit!!!!!
probably shouldn't have read the thread at 3am then...maybe i would've read that bit :D

i shall be back in the future!
downsized to a 300R in my current build so i'm getting there ;)

I had previously skirted by on a technicality - the only thing mATX about what was included was the small benching station and the mATX motherboard. Now I'm requesting proper inclusion in the mATX L33T Club, with a proper SFF build!

  • CPU: Intel i5 3570K
  • Cooler: Intel BXRTS2011LC
  • MB: EVGA Z77 Stinger
  • RAM: 8GB G.Skill RipjawsX, DDR3-2133 / 9-11-9-24
  • GPU: EVGA GTX 660
  • SSD Cache Drive: OCZ Vertex 2 120GB
  • Main OS Drive: Seagate 1TB
  • Extra Storage: Western Digital 500GB
  • ODD: LITE-ON 12x BD-ROM + DVD-R/RW
  • PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro 600W
  • Case: BitFenix Prodigy

Mostly done:

Everything done but the GPU (that extra cable under the HDDs is a second 6/8-pin PCIe cable, in the event of a GPU upgrade):

Done.

I can see why you guys like this so much. SFF system building is fun. :salute:

Looks to me like the fan is in the wrong place on the D14. Those white rubber things are there for the fan. Just checking to see if that rear case fan is an intake or exhaust? If intake, you are fine, but might want to put the rubber things under the fan. If exhaust, you might want to move the fan to the other side.

Heh, they are within spec, as it doesn't appear to shut down on me. :p

Seriously though, it was just built last night and I haven't even had time to do anything with it. The only noise is fan noise. That Intel fan can get kind-of loud, but only when temps rise. Same with a squirrel-cage blower on the GPU.

Cool, the intel fan can always be replaced with a better and more silent one.

I wanted to do the same sort of watercooling on mine, but i went with air, and its keeping my i5 2400S below 40 degrees with fan spinning at only 1000rpm.

Cant wait to gett a new GPU in it to see how it will do under heavy load.

Fixed, my bad :rain:

I had replied this to your entry on that page:

Yep, it's just an old gutted fan for a shroud.

I really like how a SSD mounts to the bottom of the TJ08-E so that the data and power connectors are accessed from the other side of the HDD cage. So, the only cables that can be seen are the GPU power cables and the fan power cable. The purpose the HDD cage is serving is to support the GPU for traveling and to hide the 24-pin, USB3.0 19-pin, and front fan wires.

@diaz: Did you buy another magnetic filter for your rear 120mm fan spot, or did you move the PSU one down?

Yeah I got a 120mm magnetic filter for the rear. Pulling air in with the H80. Actually still has some decent airflow.. I had to cut the rear shroud away though..

Oh, and you are totally a member of "\m/ OverClockers mATX L33T Club \m/"

Stamp your sig NAO! Nice build!

Not a problem; it's okay if mine didn't meet the standards. I was just looking for feedback if it didn't
