I have a 98 box that refuses to boot outside of safe mode. I was wondering if there was a way to make windows XP upgrade from dos? It only seems to want to do a clean install from dos. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ven

Have you tried using a bootdisk, like a win98 boot disk? After booting with the disk, you should be able to proceed with upgrading through dos as normal. Tho its usually best to do a clean install anyways... :burn:

I will give it a shot! Been trying to upgrade by booting from the cdrom with no luck

I would just do a clean install. When I upgraded I had a heck of a time with incompatible drivers. I found it less of a headache to do the fresh install.
