Clearly its an error, I know that much, but what's it pointing to as the problem? I get this error when I try to install software for my "Grab-It" device (a cheap knock off of the old "Snappy" thing). You plug the box into your parallel port and then you put an RCA cable coming from a camcorder / vcr / whatever to the RCA port on the side and it lets you take snap shots from whatever the source is and save the pics digitally. I've installed it before without problem but I hadn't tried installing it since my last system re-install. I'm using 98fe if that helps. Anyone?

You may want to give this a try eobard...Add the following line to the [Compatibility] section of your WIN.INI file:

DSHELL=0x00400000

Restart your computer, try reinstalling your software...then remove the DSHELL line from your WIN.INI file. :)

I'll give it a shot, but I've installed the same stuff time and time again without any modifications needed. :eh?:

That did it. I got an error at the very end of the install but that doesn't matter because it was good enough to install the stuff I wanted. Thanks. :beer:
