Audio Editing for PC?

are there any good audio editing/techno dj programs. at some point in the future iam going to join this christian outreach to inner city kids. i will be teaching them to build computers. i wouold like to trick out my rig and bring some good speakers so we could perhaps play around with some djing progs and make some simple beats. i would also like to make it so the cc would pulse to the beat. i think to see the end product and see that you can innovate and stuff to create the desired end product may make these kids want to get through the boring stuff. any help would be appreciated thanks
