Ok. I know its a way of transferring from PC to whatever, and vice-versa, but, how does it work. Isn't there some kind of PCI card I can install? Wheres a cheap place to get one? I'm thinking of getting an IPOD, and it uses Firewire. Plus, I see this term popping up alot more these days, with external drives and what not.

firewire, or IEEE1394 (firewire is the trademarked name apple uses. they developed it) is an external bus that can transfer up to 400mbps.

it's a bit like USB, but much better. :D
you can also use it for networking, among other things.

you can get PCI adapter cards. they're just like a PCI USB adapter card.

no idea where you could get one. (unless you happen to live in australia. lol )
