ok here's the dealy..

i just built my gf a new rig... she's goin away to college and all... needed something for email and net and Word and stuff...
but gave me a HUGE budget so I went all out...

Gigabyte GA-7VRX KT333
samsung 256 ddr 333mhz
xp 1800+
radeon 9000 pro
sb Live 5.1
maxtor 40gb Ata133
enermax 300watt
nec 17" trinitron
logitech wireless mouse and KB
Altec lansing speakers
window neon the whole 9

and it boots XPpro in like 10secs...

I tweaked the Bios, set agressive ram, and then I installed latest Catylyst and Via drivers and ran all the updates etc etc...

I Oced the vid card to 300/300
stock FSB..

and it scored 74xx

my rig with my crippled card score 84xx
fsb is at 155 vid card is like 275/205

so why the heck does my old rig Own her brand new one?
22mhz on the fsb and much slower card make me still win can it?

yeah I believe I heard that somewhere also...one of the sites with benchies.....can't remember....think I will go look around

Also that FSB will make your score go WAY up, not sure as big as the gap you are describing, but when you also double it and you consider the nubers....like 133 x 2 = 266FSB and yours is 155 x 2 = 310FSB...that is a pretty big difference if you think about it...

Hope this helps and I will go look around

8500 is better than the 9000. Its like the whole geforce4 mx440 thing. Marketing you know?
