We all know there is wcpuid and the sandra suite for windows, anyone have those types of utilities for linux? I tried xCPUid but I couldnt get it installed, every time i did a 'make install' it gave me an error, permission denied (even as root).

No need for xcpuid, `cat /proc/cpuinfo` should be enough.

As for Sandra, there isn't a suite of synthetic subsystem benchmarks that I know of, but there are apps to test specific subsystems.
