she knows how to code, but clueless about PCs:rolleyes:

An 8 year old boy calls her "computerman", he had some problems with a spiderman game, and asked her help. Clueless about games, she called technical support, they asked her to update video and sound drivers. Then she called me,

Wife: Can't find video card name anywhere.
Me: click start/control panel/display properties
Wife: ...

Wife: Got it, Video card made by Intel, some thing like Intel 815
Me: ...

Wife: AC'97 is the name of the sound card, do you know which comany makes it?
Me: ...

Wife: Can you download the drivers for me and send it over?
Me: ...

Wife: Better call compaq
Me: ...

An hour later,
Wife: Yayyyy, I did it! the game is 3D, very nice looking.
Me: ...

Well, even with the complete lack of immediately applicable computer skills, a Masters degree in Computer Science is still damn impressive --especially from a woman. The field is saturated by men and their need to feel cool by working with gadjets.

So if I get myself a BS in CS and know how to do computer junk, does that make me a better geek than her?
