in the process of building a new system, trying to decide what to get.

been considering going for a 1700+ tbred and trying to run it at 11(the stock mulitplier?) x 166, as i understand it, if i can get it to work it would run at around 1830Mhz without my having to unlock the chip. i want to know what sort of chances i would have at getting this to work and what mobo, hsf, and ram i should get.

been considering the
thermalright slk-800 and Sunon 80x25mm 50.2cfm,
xtremeddr pc2700, and
asus a7n8x(to utilize the dual channel DDR, i would need 2 ram chips, correct?)

just wondering what ppl think of this stuff and my chances of successfully oc'ing it. thanks

I think you may need better cooling, the XP 1700+ are based on T-bred A core and runs extremely hot, I don't think you can do that on air easily

would it make a major difference if i went with a 1800+ tbred, instead of the 1700+?

The 1800+ is a newer revision of the Tbred A core and is overclocking in most cases a lot higher.
