Dead XP 1700+

Along with the good there are some bad... Last night while unlocking my XP 1700 everything appeared to be going well no crossed bridges and all L1's were connected, put te cpu in the mobo and nada, no unlock but the chip would still work. After my 3rd attempt to unlock it, nothing at all. Removed the defoger put the chip in and got nothing.

Damn this hoby can be costly at times!

It may not be dead. You may have gotten some paint in a pit which would cause this. Douse that chip in nail polish removed, scrub with a toothebrush.
