who actually knows what the card is clocked at. Newegg advertises the 128mb LE at 250/250 but people recieve the card with 250/200. Plus.. it's like 5ns(?) mem.

People say the built by ATI cards are the way to go, and that's what I'm gonna get.. maybe you should too! :p ;)

yes go with built by ATI, most the saphires have **** memory and you wont be able to overclock much. if that is clocked at 230 for mem then i think it will have higher than 4ns memory and i think you will get only to 250 if your lucky

From what I heard and read Radeon cards from Gigabyte are pretty good, just look at the OC have that's with teverything stock! 45MHz OC on the core, and RAM needs cooling to go higher, 34MHz OC on the RAM (that's like 68DDR)

Got one. Mines clocked at 250/250 with 4ns RAM running it at 275/275 with no mods.

so should get the ati radeon 8500le or the 8500 retail?? could i get the le and than oc it to the 8500.

i have a built by ati 8500le and it could do 290 core 300 mem before i modded the cooling, now i can push it to 300/315 without artifacts in 3dmark, and its 3.6ns bga ram

Crucial is selling this card for107$ and mem is at 6ns (is 6ns better than 5ns)???
Graphics controller: ATI Radeon 8500LE video processing unit (VPU)
Memory configuration: 128MB 6ns DDR, 128-bit memory

what do you guys think is this card made by ATI or power by ATI

I have to agree, use the built by ATI unless you find an equivalent GPU and MEM clock speed for the same price
On a budget look at the 64 meg 8500le
No budget 9700
mid range by speeds not manufacturers

Personally I use a Sapphire 9000 128 meg on a 1Gig Cellery running at 1.25Gig (125 fsb) on a MSI mobo (yes I love my MSI) with the AGP@4X and it is a very good match (waiting on the processor not the vid card, also the odd HD cache)

I guess the real question should be what card for the best buck for the system in question. The card you listed is a GOOD card, I wouldn't exceed that card on my rig.

Merry :santa:

Yeah, I got one of those Sapphire 128 MB Radeon 8500LE's that Newegg advertised as being 250/250. It was a lie! It was actually 250/200 with 5 ns memory. I was pretty mad, but I decided to overclock it first and see how far it would go, before I tried sending it back to Newegg. It hits 281/281 with stock cooling and voltage. Not bad for a cheap card. I decided to keep it, after all.
