Won't boot

I have an Abit KT-7, and 1 gig cpu, whenever i boot the fans spin up and all, (hd too), but i get no beeps, and just a black screen, i know the video card is fine, What happened is my PC was running then all of a sudden the breacket on the heatsink broke, and it fell it hit the Vcard,(tested it it's fine), then i couldn't get my PC to shut off i smelled slight burning so i turned off the power bar. Any help or advice?

bracket on heatsink? It sounds like your chip lost contact with the heatsink, and you have a fried CPU.
