Hi everyone!

I'm looking to build my first water cooled set up for the extreme overclocking that I'm about to do to a new 2100 AHUIB week 0302 that I just ordered from xcaliberpc. I have a few questions and need some feedback about whats best. Whats better, a chevette heater core or a BIX radiator? The D-Teck TC-4 or a MCW5000 CPU Water Block? The links to everything is listed below. How do the parts and prices sound?

Also does anyone know how much Dodgeviper charges to do the custom mod to the D-Tek located at http://forum.ocforums.com/vb/showth...62529&highlight=three+barb+jet+sprayer+not+ha
I heard that he has done a few mods for some others on the forum. If you happen to see this message dodge, please let me know if theres a possiblity that you could do one for me.

get TC4 with the ALU tops, its better than swiftec

get the Heatercore from Dtek (for shroud, you can try use those tupper ware DIY shroud or oder from dtek or dodgeviper)

get two 120mm fan to do 1 pull and 1 push set up

good choice on the pump, but if you want to save $$ you can go for maxijet pumps

Resevior is really depend on your preference. some use T fittings some use the bay resevior and some use the new clear resevior by dangerden (i used the old resevior from danger but new one I can see is definately better than old one)

I prefer the TC-4 because you can just slip the tubing over the hose barbs and clamp it AND you have the option of using 1/2" hose barbs.

It looks, base on the link, like the Swiftie needs a solvent weld to put the barb fittings (I think 3/8", not sure if you can upgrade to 1/2").

Heatercore for sure over BIX if you can find the room in your case.

I prefer t-fittings over reservoirs because t-fittings tend to be more leak resistant and easier to fill/bleed.

Thanks for the feeback! I just PM'd Cathar and may just go with his water block. Judging by what I've read, everyone seems to think that its better than anything on the market. I have the
Cheiftec SX1040 case, also known as the alienware case. The chevy heater core should fit right below the 3.5 floppy bay, correct?

I'm gonna disagree with wangster on one point. I've actually found it easier to fill/bleed systems with a submersible pump in a reservoir than systems with a T line. I have ran both, and I switched back to a res because I can have it filled and completely bled in about 3 minutes.

i use resevior and also running inline pumps....

come on guys... having submerge pump... t fittings... or using resevior is pretty much personal preference... and i am doubtful about hurting the watercooling performance THAT MUCH as using different water block/pump/radiator

That's a nice setup elusion! What kind of radiator, water pump, and resivior do you have if you don't mind my asking?

not to get TOO off the subject or steal the limelight held by the original question...but how big is a chevette heatercore? dimension wise. I wanna know if it will fit below my 3.5's after I cut the bottom ones out...I have room there but don't know how much this will take up...(considering watercooling or vapochilling)

A 1986 heater core has a ½ inch barb and a 3/8 inch barb. The heater core itself measures 6.25" wide by 7.25" tall. I'm planing on going up to auto zone tonight to pick one up.

radiator: chevette heatercore

pump: eheim 1250

resevior: dangerden old clear resevior (newer one got some good improvements)

all those info is in my sig by the way ;)

Thanks for all the help Elusion. That sounds like the optimum set up! I may have to PM you later with a few questions once everything arrives.;)
