My friend is convinced that the Xeons are the ultimate processors for everything. I was telling him that my XP 2100 at 2.49 would be much faster then his 2.4 Xeons. Am I correct?

I would take a 2.49 amd over a 2.4 xeon any day. The hyperthreading implementation of the xeon doesn't even work correctly in all instances.

Wow I am sorry... but I would take the Xeons.... they have so much onchip cache and if they are 2.4GHz wow... thats a fast computer.

Its not even a question that needs be asked...

Depends on what xeon he has, if It is an MP then chances are thay will be really close.

If it is the original Socket 603 then probally not because it is bacially a P4 with extra cache, that can run in dual.

I say benchmark it, SiSoft, PcMark, 3dMark etc..
