"could not perform fixation"

that is the message I get when trying to burn any CD at any speed using Nero on my MSI 40x12x48x. Please help!! I need to get some CDs burned .

oh, I was at 189, but I moved it down to 166 so the PCI bus was at default speed, but that didn't help. if anything, it made it worse, because I could burn at 16x on TDK media before, and now I can't even burn at 12x .

I used to be able to do it at 40x when it was new. I will take out the drive on top of it an see if that helps.

Sounds like it might just be dying on ya, sorry to say. Try it in your other box, try a different cable, different PSU lead, and ultimately, try upgrading the firmware, obviously try that one last.

i got it 5 months ago!!!!!! I will NEVER buy an MSI burner again if it is dying.

Should have a year warrantee, always keep receipts.

I think I did keep this one...
