Hmm.. not sure if this would go in any other section, but ah well :p

Friend had a Toshiba DSL modem and found out that when it got warm, his speeds decreased quite a bit. Since we buy them, instead of renting here, he cut a hole into the modem(bottom), and AS epoxied a decently sized heatsink onto the main processor chip. Can easily tell which one, as it gets pretty damn warm.

His speeds have been a lot better ever since.

I was going to try this on mine, but dropped DSL for Roadrunner cable. Mine did get pretty hot though.
 
yeah i notcied that too, when mine got hot it wouldnt even connect to web sites :/ anyway I just put it in a cooler place and it works @ full speed :)
