my new ati 9600 pro

O.K. I think I'm going to get a new 9600 pro for my b-day on July, 14 for 200 bucks at best buy. So, I look on the box and it says 8x/4x, and my motherboard is 4x. So how much of a percentage does it only running at 4x rather than 8x effect it. PLease sure a guesstimate.

8x and 4x run neck and neck. You wouldn't notice the difference between the two.

It dosent make much of a difference at all. For 200$ you can get a 9700np which is way way way better than a 9600 Pro.

Where did you find a 9700np for 200 and how easy is it to make inot a 9700pro.

Mwave is where they are coming from i think. To make it into a 9700 Pro you just overclock it and you can flash to a Pro bios if you want. I'd say any 9700np will clock on the core high enough for pro speeds.. the ram should probably too.

I went ahead and looked it up and the only one they have now is $229

I haven't seen 200 for a 9700 is a couple of months now.

They were $200 just 10 days ago. I was going to buy one but instead bought a 9800 pro off Ebay.
